The Car

This interesting MG B has been fully track prepared and has been used as a track/race car for the past few years, this is your chance to own a truly fun track biased car that can give you all the thrills at a very affordable price point. There is also the possibility that you could use this MG B to partake in various race series, judging by the scrutineering sticker that remains in the window.

The car comes with a good amount of paperwork that mostly details the mid to late nineties through the early 2000s where a lot of work was carried out and when the car had a lot of money spent on it. The rest of the paperwork is for the work carried out in 2009/2010 when the car seems to have been converted for track use. There are quite a lot of invoices for parts and labour. There are also MOTs between 1997-2002 and 2008/2009 and a few tax discs including one in the window showing 2010 as when the car was last on the road.

Body & Paintwork

As is expected for a track car of this kind the body and paintwork is far from perfect, though its not meant to be pretty, its meant to go round a track as fast as possible! There is a fair amount of rust on the car and the paint is fairly dull in places though once you are in the car these things are not hard to look past. The car needs nothing to fulfil its ultimate use and isn't destined to be a show queen.

Interior Trim

There isn't much interior trim in the car, though it does have the original dash and dials. The car has been fitted with a full roll cage and also a bucket seat with a four point race harness. The steering wheel is worn but it helps to add to the car's story and patina. An MG B isn't a large car and the roll cage does hamper the cabin space though it is still possible for someone over 6' in height to be perfectly comfortable.

Running Gear

This MG B drives very well and should be a very fun car on the track, with a few performance upgrades such as a race clutch, the race fuel tank which is located in the boot. The car sounds great and the engine revs very well and freely too. The gearbox is tight and shifts well with no drama. This car has plenty of grunt, especially in its lightened state. The brakes pull strongly and in a straight line, allowing for a great amount of confidence in the car's abilities. The steering has great feel and tape on the steering wheel is all you need to keep you in a straight line. There is a lot of potential in this car for further development if you so wished, especially if you wanted to use the car in actual race events.
